ALBERT A. (Al) HARRISON received his BA and MA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan. Now Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of California, Davis, his books include After Contact: The Human Response to Extraterrestrial Life (Plenum, 1997) Starstruck: Cosmic Visions in Science Religion and Folklore (2007) and Civilizations Beyond Earth: Extraterrestrial Life and Society (2011).
He is a member of the Permanent SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Study Group of the International Academy of Astronautics and served on that organization’s space architecture and planetary defense study groups, and was a member of the National Institute of Discovery Science Advisory Board.
